Waiting.
Biding.
Sitting.
Time.
My time.
My time waiting.
Waiting for something.
Biding my time waiting for you.
Sitting and waiting.
Waiting and wasting time.
Seemingly wasting time.
Wasting nothing because I am waiting for you.
Why do I wait for you?
Do I not have my own reason to sit?
To sit and wait.
Maybe I wait for the sake of sitting.
Or I sit for the sake of waiting.
Whichever is true is unclear to me.
I don’t even know who “you” is.
It could be anything, anyone, anywhere.
This uncertainty does not deter me.
I remain sitting.
Biding my time.
Biding my time waiting for you.
My time waiting.
My time.
Time.
Sitting.
Biding.
Waiting.
Ethan Wilder is an interdisciplinary artist working out of Montreal, Quebec, currently acquiring a BFA at Concordia University. Ethan has always surrounded himself in the world of art, having begun his art education at a secondary level when he majored in Visual Arts at
Etobicoke School of the Arts in Toronto, Ontario. When beginning his post-secondary education Ethan spent time in Portland, Oregon to study at Pacific Northwest College of Art, spending his time there exploring painting and abstraction on a larger scale. Eventually Ethan returned to Canada and now primarily works with sculpture, drawing, sound and writing to express and work through elements of his life. Ethan uses his art and the materiality of the various media he works with to look inward and process thoughts, feelings, and experiences about the world around him.
